Sr. Software Engineer needed: Manassas, VA.
We have an opening with a great client of ours and we are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to work in Manassas, VA. This is a 1 year long contract with a possible extension. You must be a US Citizen to apply. Required: US Citizenship and Residency, W2 hourly Contract Only, No 1099, No third parties, no C2C. No exceptions (Sorry)
Pay: up to $48.75-$49.50/hr. D.O.E. – Must Be Clearable
SR. SOFTWARE ENGINEER
As an Advanced Software Engineer, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for Research and development of cybersecurity software for the US Navy. This team is responsible for software development and integration of systems supporting the cybersecurity posture of the US Navy.
Design and architect new software components in Java, C, C++, and Python to meet program needs
Lead small group of developers via managing day-to-days tasks, assigning deadlines, and leading code reviews
Organize/coordinate/lead an agile Scrum team with two-week sprints
Key personnel to communicate technical and programmatic issues to management
Research, identify, and evaluate new technologies for adoption by the Navy Participate in various technical and program meetings on a weekly basis
Integrate COTS and GOTS tools, including open source products and API-driven integration efforts
Build multi-tier software solutions, including database design and integration
What sets you apart:
Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle, including configuration management, good coding practices, and experience in writing, testing, and deploying production-quality software
Software development experience using Java (JAVAFX), Spring, C/C++, Python, and other languages in a Linux environment
Experienced in leading small Software Development team
Ability to manage day-to-day tasking for a small group of developers
Experienced in DevOps/Agile methodologies Experience using Linux, preferably Red Hat or derivatives
Knowledge of containerization technologies on Linux OS (Docker, Podman, k8s, RKE2) Familiarity with hypervisor based virtualization
Experience with open source software and custom software, as well as integration between software applications using middle tier integration and data-driven models
Experience in cybersecurity best practices Strong written and oral communication skills
Technical problem-solving ability for large and complex software systems
