Position Overview:
As a Technology Systems Developer - ERP, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle database solutions and ERP modules for the City's Oracle E-Business Suite.
Duties include but are not limited to
Designing and implementing Oracle database solutions
Configuring and customizing ERP modules, specifically HR/Finance
Developing technical design documents and supporting development deliverables
Providing production support on a rotation basis
Conducting code/design reviews with internal and external application development teams
Ensuring compliance with City standards and protocols
Serving as an essential employee, available for on-call support 24/7 during emergencies
Incumbents serves as an Essential employee, which means that the incumbent is required to work when the City is closed due to public emergencies, critical or hazardous conditions, or inclement weather. The incumbent in this position is required to serve on-call 24 hours/7 days a week to provide leadership for the support and resolution of problems for critical systems and applications within the assigned City of Richmond portfolio.
Qualifications, Special Certifications and Licenses
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge in software applications such as Oracle e-Business Suite, Oracle RDMS, and PuTTY/WinSCP
Functional knowledge of application specific and advanced technical skills in area of focus such as PL/SQL, EBS-R-12 and/or coding and developing new applications
Reviewing and evaluating proposed applications
Coding and debugging program changes
Collaborating with other systems personnel for technical programming guidance and system knowledge
Communicating with and supporting various internal and external departments
Converting business requirements into technical designs
Creating and maintaining required documentation for programs, testing, and other required deliverables
Evaluating and recommending changes to current and future system requirements
Preparing flow charts, structure charts, and other design documents
Teaching and instructing clients on the use of applications
Testing and deploying applications to the servers; and upgrading and maintaining existing system applications.

Recognizing issues and proactively troubleshoot the identified problem
Understanding the steps required for problem resolutions and workarounds.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems development, or database management
One year of experience
Strong knowledge of Oracle e-Business Suite, Oracle RDMS, and PuTTY/WinSCP
Proficiency in PL/SQL and EBS-R-12, with experience in coding and developing new applications
Technical fluency in relational databases, including solid SQL and PL/SQL skills
Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports, preferably within large-scale Oracle databases
Familiarity with Oracle ERP applications such as APEX and OBIEE is a plus
LICENSING, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
None required
PREFERRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
At least two (2) years direct experience as developer working with Oracle applications
Technical fluency in relational databases. This includes solid SQL and PL/SQL skills
At least (2) years of experience with large-scale Oracle databases
Demonstrated experience with Oracle Forms and Reports
Preferred experience in the areas below
Oracle E-business suite
Oracle ERP applications
Oracle APEX
Oracle OBIEE
Oracle Forms and Reports
Oracle 11i/12r.
