Manufacturing Systems Term Project
Core idea of the work was the design of an innovative product, its simulation for the production process
a long with the process planning. Responsibilities included the design of the product in SolidWorks,
P ro/E and the use of MasterCAM to simulate the process. Concepts of lean manufacturing were
employed for process planning and the product was subjected to quality check.

Part of 5 Member team involved in Vibration Analysis of IFB Washing Machines. Project
awarded Rs. 265,000 for Research and Development purposes. Vibration Analysis
performed via simulation using ANSYS and LABView. Improvisation of the existing model
and the process involved.

Simulation of Vibrations utilizing ANSYS and LABVIEW. Key position in improving the

5. D emand Planning and Analysis for Vario us Distribution Channels June
2007 – Aug 2007
Fouress Enterprises, Madurai
P roject dealt with Analyzing Demand Profiles and Forecasting Methods for a Wholesale
d istributor of imported goods. Project commissioned to enable the company to achieve the
following: Improved adaptability to varied demand patterns from various distribution
channels. Better matching of forecasted demand to the actual demand was done. Analysis
i ncluded basic simulation of forecasting algorithms, and analysis of forecasting error
parameters.
